Pauline Kostelnak, 86, Dickinson, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Pauline’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will follow at the Killdeer Cemetery, Killdeer. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a Catholic Daughters of the America’s rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Kris Ringwall presiding.

Pauline Cinder was born August 8, 1928 in Dickinson, the daughter of Frank J. and Barbara (Binstock) Cinder. She was raised and educated in Belfield, graduating from Belfield High School. She then attended business college in Minneapolis. She returned to Dickinson and worked at the ASCS Office.

Pauline was united in marriage to Leonard Kostelnak on February 11, 1961 in Belfield. The Kostelnaks farmed and ranched in the Killdeer area, where they raised Polled Hereford Cattle, until retirement in 1992. They moved to Dickinson in November of 1997.

She belonged to the Catholic Daughters, and was a past member of the Homemakers, and Altar Guild. She loved to travel, cross-stitch, and work on puzzles. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Linda (Scott) Fritz, Beulah; four grandchildren, Caitlin (fiancée-CJ Ost) Fritz, Hailey Fritz, Hunter Fritz, and Kristian Kostelnak; great-grandson, Greyson Ost; Kristian’s mother, Jeanne; one sister, Rose O’Brien, Killdeer; sister-in-law, Heidi Murray; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, January 8, 1999; son Ken Kostelnak, January 16, 1995; siblings, Ed Cinder, Martha (Elmer) Jurgens, and Lillian (Harold) Heath; and brother-in-law, Don O’Brien.
