Timothy J. Byrne, 48, Dickinson formerly of Williston, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 3, 2008 in Houston, Texas. Tim’s funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Rev. James Hessler officiating. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, military honors will be provided by the Veterans Drill Team following the funeral service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Timothy J. Byrne was born August 31, 1960 at Williston, the son of Thomas and Joan (Cosgrove) Byrne. He was raised and educated in Williston, having graduated from Williston High School in 1978. Tim joined the United States Army in 1978, and during his six years in the military he served in Germany, Korea and the United States. He was honorably discharged in 1984.

Tim attended broadcasting school in Arizona, and in 1986 moved to Dickinson where he worked at KLTC and KDIX Radio as an announcer. During his time in Dickinson, Tim became an expert social chemist, working at Champs, the Elks and the Rattlesnake. Tim also held various jobs with the U.S. Forest Service, REMco Software and most recently found his dream job with SolarBee, Inc. Tim’s love of travel and meeting new people made this a perfect job for him.

Tim married Mary (Schmidt) Weigel on February 29, 2000, and their son Andrew is a freshman at Trinity High School.

Tim enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, car races, reading, and spending time with Andrew, family and friends. He belonged to the St. Anthony Club.

Tim is survived by his son Andrew, Dickinson; and three siblings, Michael Byrne, Minot, Patrick Byrne, Williston and his son, Kyle, and Cathy (Russ) Walsh, Dickinson and their children, David and Stephanie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
