Betty Jane Barth, 83, Dickinson, died on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson, surrounded by her family. Betty’s Liturgy of Word Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Inurnment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary at 10 a.m.
Betty Jane Urlacher was born on June 27, 1940 in DeSart, the daughter of Dominic and Mary Ann (Kuntz) Urlacher. In 1945 her parents moved by New England where she went to school at St. Mary’s and graduated in 1959.
Following graduation, she moved to Dickinson and worked at Woolworth’s until it closed in 1993. She then went to work for Happy Joe’s until it closed. From there she and Edward cleaned for an accountant’s office and other businesses for many years.
Betty was united in marriage to Edward Barth on September 20, 1966 and together they had four children, Michael, Marvin, Michele, and Mary.
Betty is survived by her husband, Edward; children, Michael (Michelle) Barth, Marvin (Char) Barth, and Michele (Robert) Trimble; seven grandchildren, Matthew Barth, McKaylyn Barth, Nathan Barth, Kadin Barth, Briana Trimble, Joshua Trimble, and Caleb Trimble; sister-in-law, Eleanor Urlacher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary; her parents; siblings, Luella (William) Emmil, Irene (Benedict) Benz, and John Urlacher.
