On June 28, 1974 she married Darrell Decker and they made their final home in Dickinson. In the 49 years they had together they had four children: Stephany, Brandon, Derek, and Channing Decker.

Carol worked several jobs during her lifetime but being a homemaker and taking care of her kids is what she found to be most valuable in her life. She enjoyed playing cards as a pastime. Pinochle, rummy, and solitaire were favorites of hers. Crossword puzzles also kept her attention. Carol and her dad shared the same birthday. This was a big deal to the family as they were always celebrated together. Carol also enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and visits with her grandchildren. She was well known for an ear-piercing whistle that was not to be ignored by her younger siblings or her children when it was time to come inside.

Carol was preceded in death by both her parents; her sister, Sandy Berg; and her daughter, Stephany. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Decker; her sons: Brandon (Michelle) Decker, Derek Decker, and Channing Decker; her six grandchildren: Adia, Bailey, Brooklyn, William, Brie, and Raidynn; her siblings: Bill (Kay) Berg, Karen (Al) Sand, Kenny (Judy) Berg, Kristy (John) Schroeder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
