Catherine G. “Kaatja” Hueske, 90, formerly of Richardton died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Catherine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2008 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Halliday with Fr. James Shea as the celebrant. Interment will follow at the Halliday Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Catherine G. Bogers was born February 4, 1918 in Killdeer, the daughter of Adrian John and Gertrude (DeKonig) Bogers. She was raised and educated in the Halliday area and graduated from Halliday High School. She had earned her teaching certificate and had taught country school in Dunn County.

Catherine married Clarence Hueske on November 24, 1947 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Halliday. Together they lived and farmed north of Richardton until 2000 when she moved into Dickinson, first to Villard Square and the past two years at The St. Luke’s Home.

Kaatja was a member of the Peaceful Valley Homemakers Club, Catholic Daughters, and the community bible study. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking, playing cards and watching TV. Her greatest joy came from visits and time spent with her grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by two sons, Lenny (Mary) Hueske, Richardton, and Larry (Gailene) Hueske, Dickinson; nine grandchildren, Cole Buckman, Belfield, Keith Buckman, Fargo, Matthew Buckman, Belfield, Chad Hueske, Bismarck, Erin Hueske, Fargo, Megan Hueske, Fargo, Gina (Dan) Gordon, Firestone, Colo., Corey (Natasha) Bertsch, Chandler, Ariz., and Danae (Ron) Lujan, Lakewood, Colo.; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Nell (Ernie) Buckman, Belfield; and seven siblings, Ella Beaton, Bismarck, Cora Brooks, Halliday, Gertrude Marquardt, Bismarck, Peter (Mary) Bogers, Washington, Adrian (Gertrude) Bogers, Idaho, Gerald (Ann) Bogers, Halliday, and Joseph (Deloris) Bogers, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence in June 1988; a son, David Hueske, March 1991, three brothers, Johnny, Francis, and Dingeman “Bud”; five brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
