Chad James Peterson was born on February 12, 1971 in Baker, MT, the son of James Ray and Norma Jean (Storlie) Peterson. He was raised on the family ranch, south of Marmarth and educated in Bowman where he graduated from Bowman High School in 1989.

He worked many years in the oilfield. He went on to receive a certification in Heating and Air.

His heart has always been with Lisa the love of his life for the past 32 years. He was a wonderful step-dad to Alex and Ben who he loved and raised like his own. Later in life he had Salisa then Brandon that he loved deeply.

He enjoyed family, trapping, collecting coins and cars. Chad loved the sunsets, he said it was the loneliest part of the day when Lisa was not around. Wildlife played a big role with him. He had special bonds with many animals. His dogs and cats were always by his side or right below his feet. He loved Charlie the Chinchilla even though Charlie chewed the whiskers off his bobcat that he had trapped. He loved walking down by the river and collecting arrowheads and many Indian artifacts. If anybody needed help he was always there to lend a hand.

Chad is survived by his companion, Lisa Dutchuk, Dickinson; his children, Salisa (Lucas) Young, Dickinson, and Brandon Peterson, Dickinson; step-son, Alexander Pierson, OR; grandchildren, Raeley Pierson and Xander Peterson; his mother, Jean Peterson, Bowman; brother, Darin (Pavinee) Peterson, Newark, DE; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; step-son Benjamin Pierson; and all of his grandparents, whom he loved dearly.
