Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Dale was born on November 30th, 1964, to Raymond and Erma (Steingrueber) Klein in Dickinson. He grew up and lived all his life on the family farm in Hebron. Growing up, Dale would refer to the family farm as the “funny farm” and always mentioned how he couldn’t wait to leave. Little did he know what God had planned for him. After high school, Dale started working for the Hebron Brick Company. Soon after, he began working on the family farm alongside his best friend and father, Raymond. Dale and Ray were blessed to share their passion for farming and ranching as father and son every day for 20 years.

Shortly after high school, Dale married and was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Tessa and Lauren. Dale always made sure to share many lasting memories with his daughters on the farm, riding on the tractor, watching baby calves being born, and taking the girls on four-wheeler rides. He was so proud to have his girls by his side, learning and enjoying the things that he loved to do. Dale was a true outdoorsman. It wasn’t odd to look out your window in Hebron on a rainy night to find Dale wearing a rain poncho and a headlamp, snatching nightcrawlers from the earth for bait the next day. He loved to take his girls hunting, fishing, and camping, where they made many precious memories together. Tessa, Lauren, and his grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy. They were what kept him going.

Among Dale’s many hobbies, nothing brought him as much peace and enjoyment as riding his Harley Davidson. He even had his parents pose for a picture on his bike, which he framed and hung proudly in his living room. Dale loved to collect antiques and rare historical collector’s items. Seldom would he pass by an antique store without having to stop and add to his collection. He loved hunting them down and sharing them with his family and friends. He was always excited to show them off and talk about their significance. Rarely could you visit Dale and leave his home without an extensive narrative of his recent finds.

Dale was certainly a socialite and mingler; he had many friends and was not afraid to make more. He was kind and funny with anyone; friend or not, he wouldn’t engage in any conversation without at least one joke. If you didn’t laugh at his joke, you were sure to laugh at his infectious laughter once he told it. He was very funny and light-hearted; this was one of his greatest attributes and one that he certainly inherited from his father, Ray. Dale was a quality father, grandfather, and friend; not a day went by that he didn’t reach out to offer or take care of his loved ones in some form. Dale was also a night owl; you would never really know when to expect his late-night visits that would have included dropping off strawberries, dad jokes, or a wild story about his day. Night or day, Dale never shied away from an opportunity to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it; he was a fierce friend.

Dale spent the last 20 years of his life self-employed, farming and then grinding hay for local farmers. He treasured the relationships and service that he was able to share with the farmers and ranchers in his community. He will be so missed by many. He leaves to mourn Tessa Klein, Lauren (Alec) Lindsey; his grandchildren, Sol Klein, Camden and Zaylee Schmidt, and Murphy Lindsey; his siblings, David (Wanda) Klein, Jackie (Ryan) Lefor, and Jocelyn (Jeff) Imhoff; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death are his parents, Raymond and Erma Klein; grandparents, Henry and Anna Klein, and George and Caroline Steingrueber.
