Rodney A. Kadrmas, 74, Fairfield, died on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at his home. Rodney’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Rodney Arthur Kadrmas was born February 15, 1952 in Dickinson, the son of Edmond R. and Georgene (Resch) Kadrmas. He was raised and educated in Dickinson where he attended St. Joseph’s School and Trinity High School, graduating in 1970.
He worked various jobs until becoming a full-time farmer and rancher in 1974 north of Fairfield with his brothers, Ken and Gary. In 1977, he went on his own where he took great pride in growing and tending to the trees he planted for his shelter belt, which earned him the Conservation Award.
One of Rodney’s passions was raising Blue Roan Horses. He also loved music, having participated with the group, Doug, Debbie, & Rod.
Rodney is survived by his siblings, Sandy (Ron) Ficek, Dickinson, Vernie (Ray Chamberlin) Johnson, Surprise, AZ, Gerald (Evelyn) Kadrmas, Bismarck, Tom Kadrmas, Dickinson, Jan Zidon, Sun City, AZ, Laurie Phillips, Wasilla, AK, and Lolly Kadrmas, Mandan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ken, Howard, and Ross; niece, Jeannie Ficek Haugen; and nephew, Reese Coleman.
