David J. Reopelle, DC, 49, Dickinson died Friday, October 24, 2008 of complications related to his ALS. Dave’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Rev. Steven Tangen officiating. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

David was born April 30, 1959 in Cavalier, the son of Leon and Doris (Goodman) Reopelle. At the age of four the Reopelle family moved to Dickinson and it was here that Dave was raised and educated. Dave graduated from Dickinson High School in 1977 and then went on to attend UND in Grand Forks and Moorhead State in Moorhead, Minn., to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree. He then was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1983. Dave furthered his education having earned the DABCO Degree which is the Diplomat of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedist Degree.

Dave married Tanna Rustand on June 19, 1981 in Bismarck. They moved to Dickinson in 1984 where he established Reopelle Chiropractic. Dave sold his practice in Dickinson and a satellite office in Beach on May 31, 2008 due to health reasons.

Dave was very active and involved in both professional and community organizations, and over the years he had received numerous awards. He had an unending loyalty to his profession and alumni throughout his life. Dave had a very competitive nature and a strong spirit as a spectator and participant in a variety of sports. He was a “know it all trivia buff ~ who actually did know it all”.

David is survived by his wife, Tanna; their four children, Nathan Reopelle, Dickinson, Paul Reopelle, Moorhead, Minn., Natalie Reopelle, Moorhead, Minn., and Molly Reopelle, Dickinson; his mother and her husband, Doris and Marino Steinolfson of both Dickinson and Mountain; and his sister, Helen (Gene) Gudmundson, Mountain. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Alan and Roger; and his grandparents.
