Del Dvorak, 64, formerly of Manning, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Del’s earthly journey ended peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a two year battle with cancer. Del’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Josh Ehli as the celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a vigil at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ron Wolberg presiding.

Delvern Peter Dvorak was born February 26, 1945 in Dickinson, to Henry S. and Dorothy F. (Kadrmas) Dvorak. He grew up on a farm near Manning, and started farming at the age of 10. He was united in marriage with Eleanore Meier in 1965 and they farmed and ranched near Manning for 30 years, then moved to Dickinson to live by the lake.

Del worked at TMI Systems for 10 years, then moved to Grand Forks to be closer to his grandchildren. Del worked at Strata Corp., Transystems and Tri-State Paving where he loved driving semi-trucks. Del was a member of the Elks, Eagles and Queen of Peace Parish for many years.

Del touched the lives of many friends and family, and will be deeply missed. We look forward to being greeted by him in heaven. Del is survived by his wife, Ellie; their three daughters, Lisa (Brian) Breidenbach, Thompson, Michelle Davis, Bismarck, and Nicole (Brent) Jahner, Dickinson; two grandchildren, Jordon and Paige Breidenbach; three brothers, Larry, Nevada, Henry, Moorhead, Minn., and Marnee (Cherrie), Boling Springs, S.C.; and two sisters, Karen (Mike) Roller, Bismarck, and Susan (Bruce) Nord, Grand Forks. He was preceded in death by his parents.
