Gene L. Torstenson, 68, Dickinson, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home of natural causes. There will be an informal Gathering of Family and Friends for Gene from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Gene Lee Torstenson was born April 10, 1949, son of Joel and Mary (Emmerick) Torstenson in Bottineau. He was united in marriage to Donna Lish and to this union two children were born, Daniel Lee and Michele Veronica.
He worked in the oilfields most of his life and lived in North Dakota, Colorado and Wyoming, throughout the years. Gene was most recently employed by Harlows Bus Service. He truly enjoyed being a bus driver, as he loved the children and their unique perspectives. He enjoyed teaching them informally.
Gene was a member of the NRA. He loved music and frequently found videos on the internet and listened to and share them with his family. He always had a joke or silly one liner because he loved laughter. Gene enjoyed reading, learning and had a great appreciation for poetry.
Gene is survived by his children, Daniel Lee Torstenson, Dickinson and Michele Veronica (Nathaniel) Chudnofsky, Houston, Alaska; granddaughter, Shoshannah Chudnofsky; and brother, Tom Torstenson, Gladstone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joel Torstenson; mother, Mary Bratberg; step-dad, Oscar Bratberg; brothers, Joel Torstenson and Eric Torstenson.
