Genevieve (Jane) Marie Decker died peacefully at her home in Dickinson on December 1st, 2023. Services will be held at a later date.
Jane was born on March 4, 1938 to Tony and Mary (Schiff) Koppinger and was raised on a farm Northeast of New England. She attended Clark Township Country School and later St. Mary’s Elementary and High School in New England where she graduated. She went on to attend Dickinson State Teacher’s College and taught at a country school.
Jane married Valentine Decker in 1959 and they moved to Portland, Oregon where their son, Gerald Paul (Jerry) was born. Jane eventually returned to Dickinson and lived a quiet life. She was a gentle and independent soul who loved reading and listening to radio programs.
Jane is survived by her son, Jerry and his wife Cheryl of Portland, Oregon; and her siblings, Carol Madler (Bob) of Glendale, AZ, Julia (Judy) Mayer of Dickinson, Alvin (Gloria) of Littleton, CO, Rita (Tom) of Scottsdale, AZ, Doug of Tucson, AZ and Vera Renna (Mike) of Casa Grande, AZ as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
