Greg “Ben” Schank, 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. There will be a private immediate family and cousin Mass of Christian Burial for Ben at 1:30 p.m., Monday January 4, 2021 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and time of sharing at 4 p.m.

Greg “Ben” Schank was born March 4, 1961 in Dickinson to George and Ann (Thomas) Schank. Ben grew up south of Richardton on the farm until they moved to Dickinson in 1970. He went to Richardton Elementary School, then St Patrick’s and Trinity High School. He was employed at Mann’s, Braun’s and Helena Chemical Co.

Ben loved softball, golfing at South Heart and Dickinson golf clubs, helping at the Lefor KC steak and shrimp dinners, being Santa, and helping with the Halloween festivities. Ben was known as a good, loving, caring and kind man. Greg “Gentle Ben” loved and so enjoyed his family, cousins, and friends, and getting everyone together.

Greg is survived by his siblings, Jack Schank, Dickinson, Jackie Hoolihan, Minneapolis, Minn., and Robert (Kelly) Schank, Atlanta; nephews, Brian (Claudette) Hoolihan (Brendon and Colin) Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Mike (Kelley) Hoolihan (Shannon, Blake, and Liam) Lakeville, Minn.; and niece, Melissa (Chad) Abrahamson (Brielle and Paisley), Bismarck.

Greg is preceded in death by parents, George and Ann Schank; sister, Mary Ann; and brother Bill Schank.
