Helen Bleth, 93, formerly of Taylor, died Friday, October 4, 2019 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Helen’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Robert Bohn presiding at Ladbury Funeral Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Helen Bergenheier was born November 16, 1925 at Richardton, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Gallagher) Bergenheier. She was raised south of Richardton where she attended country school through the 8th grade.

Helen married Simon Bleth on February 25, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton. They lived north of Taylor for three years prior to moving to Wyoming where her husband worked construction. Following five years in Wyoming the family moved back to North Dakota. Helen worked at the Assumption Abbey for a year, and the family then moved to Taylor where she spent most of the rest of her life. The past five years she was a resident at Evergreen for three years and the last two years at St. Luke’s.

She was a member of the Taylor Senior Citizens, and Taylor Christian Mothers. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, playing pinochle, and tending to her flowers.

Helen is survived by her children, Geri Birdsell-Bleth, Mandan, Dwight (Carol) Bleth, Dickinson, Kenneth (Cindy) Bleth, Menoken, and David (Char) Bleth, Dickinson; grandchildren, Michael Cantlon, Gina (Kelly) Jacobson, Nicol (Dale) Winkelman, Jackie (Mike) Hoyt, Ryan (Kate) Bleth, Shawn (Meagan) Bleth, Darren Bleth, Farrah (Chris) Gietzen, Chris Haider, Robert Haider and Andrea Haider; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Agnes (Lester) Voegele, Billings; and sister-in-law, Anne Bergenheier, Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon on October 16, 1997; her parents; sisters, Frances (Walter) Goetz and Inez (Leonard) Friedt; brother, Frank Bergenheier; and son-in-law, Mike Birdsell.
