John William Enderle was born February 10, 1954 in Dickinson, the son of Fred and Julia (Gieser) Enderle. He attended St. Mary’s High School, New England having graduated with the Class of 1972. He went on to attend Bismarck State Junior College.

John had a witty sense of humor, a positive demeanor that was contagious to those around him, and a “fly by the seat of your pants” attitude towards life.

He frequently would quote the saying “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans”. That would usually be followed up with his own saying “My only plan today is to walk out my front door”.

Prior to farming, he worked for many years at jobs in construction and trucking, including helping build the Beulah Coal Gasification Plant. The one thing that he had always wanted to do was farm, and he was able to start doing that in the mid 80s. He always said he loved being his own boss, and he genuinely loved it in spite of having too little rain, too much rain, equipment breakdowns, hail storms, fluctuating commodity markets, etc.

He married the love of his life, Karen, on April 19, 1974 and they started a family. He loved the outdoors, hiking, working with his hands, and creatively photographing anything he could.  Inside, he loved reading, woodworking, and games. Most important in it all were the family and friends he was with.  His New Years bonfires were always notorious!

He was heavily involved with the Taylor Activities Community, including working over 20 Horse Fest events. He was involved with local politics, and served as the GOP district 36 Chair for many years. He was an early member of the Calvary Chapel Church in Dickinson, and had a deep and unshakable faith in Jesus. He always said he had no regrets in life.

He was preceded in death by his son Kevin; his parents; and his brother Barry Enderle.

He is survived by his wife Karen Enderle (Wise), his two sons Corey Enderle (Andrea) and Nathan Enderle (Brigitta), his grandchildren Jonathan Enderle, Noah Enderle, Evan Enderle, Julia Enderle, Annaliese Enderle, Sean Enderle, and Isabella Enderle, and his siblings Fred Enderle (Susan), Judy Piraneo, Ruth Prouty (Duane), and Mark Enderle (LeeAnn); also numerous nieces and nephews.
