Kathy Paul-Scallen, age 56, died at home in Casper, Wyoming on Monday, September 7, 2026. Kathy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New England with Fr. Gary Benz as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Victor Dvorak as presider. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Kathy Paul-Scallen was born on August 15, 1970 in Dickinson, North Dakota, the daughter of James and Marylin (Frank) Paul. She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in New England, North Dakota, in 1989, earned a certificate in interior design from UND Williston, and attended RD Hairstyling School of Cosmetology. She worked as a cosmetologist for 30 years.
Kathy raised her son, Kelcey Paul, alone until he was 12. He was her motivation to become successful.
On May 11, 2002 she married Jason Scallen at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Gillette, Wyoming. Together they raised Kelcey and were able to purchase their dream home, travel to the Bahamas, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Alaska, the Grand Canyon, and take many adventurous camping trips. Kathy loved cooking and baking and was a talented decorator with a gift for interior design.
Kathy is survived by her son, Kelcey Paul, of Broomfield, Colorado, and her husband of 24 years, Jason Scallen of Casper, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her parents.
