Kole’s Liturgy of Word will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Fr. Joseph Evinger presiding. Interment will take place at Sentinel Butte Cemetery.
Kole came into this world on August 12, 1972, a close second behind his twin brother, Kale. The twins joined the crew of Jim and Dona (Tescher) Lowman, which included four brothers and one sister. They lived north of Trotters and later moved to their ranch near Fairfield. Kole grew up loving his family, friends, the ranch, bikes, wagons, John Deere tractors, Ford pickups, and dogs of all sorts; his favorite stuffie being a blue heeler. In his younger years his wagons and bikes were at the top of his list and as he grew older, he enjoyed four wheelers, side by sides, Ford pickups, Westerns, and “Wheel of Fortune.” He attended Billings County schools and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1993. He lived at the ranch, in Dickinson, Bismarck, and later moved to the Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton. Kole had many friends from all over the state. The family marveled at how many people he knew. His big heart and “mostly” unconditional love are what we will miss the most about him.
While Kole had many medical and developmental struggles, he amazed us with his ability to push forward and figure out a way through difficulties. His laughter was infectious and he will be remembered as laughing to the point of tears. Kole is survived by his father, Jim (Jo Lee) Lowman, brothers Greg (Laurie) and Steve (Deb) Chuppe, sister Alicia (Perry) Redmond, brothers Talus and Kale (Keely) Lowman, and sister-in-law Shirley Chuppe and their families. Kole was preceded in death by his mother, Dona Lowman, brother Mike Chuppe, great-nephew James Miller, and other precious little ones.
Kole received exceptional care in Grafton, and we would like to thank the entire staff for their kindness toward him. Especially important to him were his dear friends Dianna Denault, along with caretakers Maria Aguilar and Kathy Moeri. Kole had another angel in his life, his sister-in-law, Deb Chuppe, who was his fierce medical and lifelong advocate. She took his 7 p.m. phone calls daily, and we are all so grateful for her love, care, and dedication.
