Larry Dutchuk, 76, Beulah, formerly of Dickinson, died on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Larry’ s Panakhyda & Parastas will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Tony Holt & Deacon Leonard Kordonowy presiding. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary at 7 p.m. led by Todd Schweitzer.

Larry G. Dutchuk was born on May 5, 1948 in Spokane, WA, the son of William and Ann (Kanski) Dutchuk. The family moved to Snow, ND when he was young where he attended farm school. The family then moved to Dickinson where he attended Dickinson Public Schools and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1966. He went on to attend Dickinson State College for a bit. He was drafted into the United States Army on June 4, 1969 and served honorably until May 25, 1971 with most of his time served in Germany.

Larry met the love of his life Terri Kilzer in 1971 and they were married on June 23, 1973 at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Fairfield. He worked for Frito Lay, Holsum, Eddy’s Bakery and finally Sweetheart Bakery as a salesman/delivery man until the early 1990s when he experienced a career ending injury which led to an early retirement.

He belonged to the Knights of Columbus where he served as past Grand Knight, the American Legion, and served on the Beulah Senior Citizens Board. In his  spare time he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, watching sports-local high school and pro, but mostly enjoyed watching his grandsons play. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and family, canning (his sauerkraut is what he was known for).

Larry is survived by his wife, Terri; children, Jennifer (Wade) Backus, Aurora, CO, and Gene (Sonja) Dutchuk, Beulah; grandchildren, Everette, Parker, and Matthew; siblings, John (Kay) Dutchuk, Beulah, Victor (Karin) Dutchuk, Altoona, IA, and Deb (Todd) Schweitzer, Dickinson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one great-nephew.
