Robert “Bob” Olheiser, 79, of Isle, MN, formerly of Amidon and Dickinson, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN, with his family by his side. Bob’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Fr. Dennis Schafer as celebrant. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Interment will take place at St. Pius Cemetery, Schefield. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before Mass on Wednesday.

Robert Olheiser was born August 4, 1947 in Dickinson, the son of John and Dorothy (Jirges) Olheiser. After Bob graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New England, he joined the US Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home from the war, Bob met Karla Jean Hartman and the two were married on November 24, 1972, in Dickinson.  Together, they moved to St. Louis Park, Minnesota where they built their life and raised their family.

Bob was an incredibly talented and hardworking man who seemed to be able to fix, build, or create just about anything. He especially loved his time at Lake Mille Lacs, where he was able to put his many talents to work and build a beautiful cabin and home to be filled with many memories by his family. He could often be found tinkering away in his garage, always working on a project or finding something new to fix or build. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and sharing good times with his many friends at the Military Service Association (MSA).

Bob’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karla; his daughter, Maranda (Ryan) Hansen; his son, Robert (Carrie) Olheiser; and his daughter, Desra (Jeffery) Widdel. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren: Kayla (Grayson), Jordan (Bauer), Ethan, Amelia, Angela, Sophia, Emily (Brandon), Carly, Jeffrey, and Dashanti; and a great-grandfather to Amiyah and Bjorn. Bob was the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters, and is also survived by his siblings, Bernadette (John) Laciskey, Ervin (Peggy) Olheiser, Linda (Duane) Krank, Clarence (Barb) Olheiser, John (Carla) Olheiser, Kenneth Olheiser, Susan Symionow, Carla (Anthony) Rodakowski, Marvin (Roberta) Olheiser, and Allen (Ann) Olheiser; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Olheiser.

Family and friends will gather at the MSA on Lake Mille Lacs on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 1:00pm to celebrate and remember his life.
