Robert L. Hahn January 12, 1938 - November 1, 2016

Robert L. Hahn, 78, Salina, Kansas died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home.

He was born January 12, 1938 in Minneapolis, Kansas to Louis H. and Helen F. (Everett) Hahn. Bob attended schools in Minneapolis and he was a 1956 graduate of Minneapolis High School. After graduation he attended and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1961. Bob then served in the United States Navy aboard the USS W.A.S.P. Aircraft out of Boston. He was honorably discharged in 1964. During the same year, Bob went to work for Exxon-Mobil in Marketing. He made calls in Kansas City, Topeka, Dickinson, Fargo, Sioux Falls, and St. Cloud. While he was working for Exxon-Mobil he met Dolly Marsh and they were married August 9, 1968 in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1972, Bob resigned from Exxon-Mobil and began a teaching career at the St. Cloud Community College. During that same time, he worked on developing G.L. Huyett in Minneapolis. Bob would spend the winter teaching and the summers developing a customer base for the business. In 1981, he and Dolly moved to Salina and assumed the full time business responsibility. He sold the business in 1992. Dolly was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and she preceded him in death on August 8, 2006. After selling the business, Bob managed farmland, attended numerous KU ballgames and was active at the Salina YMCA.

Besides Dolly, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Helen. Survivors include his sisters Jean Todd and husband Dick of Minneapolis and Marcia Anderson and husband Paul of Salina; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private family graveside services were held at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.
