I, Russel Dean Jordan was born on July 27th, 1953 on the family farm north of Mott, ND to John and Ann (Miller) Jordan. I was born the 9th of 13 children.
I attended Prairie Home School for the first of four grades (yep, it was 1/4 miles walk to the country school, all the way uphill, both ways!, and then graduating from Mott High School in 1971. I then attended trade school for mechanic in Billings, Montana.
I met Carla Sayler and we were married in 1987. In this union we had two children, Wesley and Holly. Unfortunately we separated in 1992.
In 2002, I married Marian Wetzel. We continued to live and raise cattle til 2011, when I was forced to sell the cattle due to health. I continued with my trucking business up until July 2022.
I enjoyed the love of farming and ranching. I started my ranch in 1984 just north of my parents’ homestead. I helped my brother Lawrence with his carpentry business. For playtime, I enjoyed demolition derbys, and always wanted to see how long I could keep that wrecked car agoing. I even attempted to win a few trophies to boot!! I was truly an avid snowmobile rider and winning a few races too!
In my spare time I enjoyed spending time with the grandkids and taking walks with my cats. I have been a member of the St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, and of the Knights of Columbus. I served on the State Knights of Columbus level for six years. I looked forward to our monthly KC meetings, quality time with the other KC members with friendly games of cards. I enjoyed playing cards anytime! Most of all.. I enjoyed the Polka Fests across the country and spending time with our Polka Friends. I also enjoyed helping out with our jelly business (MaresCreations), setting up during Vendor Shows and of delivering products to the local businesses.
