Sharissa Kubik Merkel, 66, born September 15, 1956, passed away peacefully April 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Merkel; parents, Anton and Edith (Hibl) Kubik; step-mother, Susan Kubik; and brother-in-law, Keary Kadrmas. Sharissa is survived by her sisters, Sharmaine Kadrmas, Sharlot (Les) Wieland, and Sally (Mark) Henry; brother, Scott Kubik; nephew, Korey (Erin/Duke) Kadrmas; and niece, Stacey Mae Kadrmas.
Sharissa was raised on a farm north of Dickinson. She worked for Northern Improvement as a truck driver for 14 dedicated years, then moved into customer service, notably for M & H and Walmart.
She was as passionate about football (Go Steelers! Go Packers!) as she was about playing bingo and slot machines. Nothing pleased her more than relaxing with a diet coke or mountain dew, and maybe a cheeseburger.
Sharissa had a really big heart, and even though her life was filled with tragedy, she handled the many hardships with joy and optimism—often saying “Ain’t life a trip!” No matter how little she had, she was always willing to share what she had with the ones she loved.
Sharissa’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
