Stephen “Steve” R. Ferderer, 62, of Dickinson, died on Thursday, September 3, 2026, surrounded by his family at Benedictine Living Community in Dickinson. An Informal Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Ladbury Funeral Service in Dickinson, followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Eagle’s Club in Dickinson. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Stephen “Steve” Ray Ferderer was born October 30, 1963, the son of Peter and Anna (Stein) Ferderer, in Bismarck. He grew up and attended school in Dickinson. Steve moved to and worked in various building trades in Tucson, AZ, Escondido, CA and Denver, CO before returning to Dickinson to work for Just-In Glass for the past 19 years. He was an avid NASCAR, Drag Racing, Seattle Seahawks and Seattle SuperSonics fan. Steve also loved music and he loved to create artwork, collect and repair clocks and was very good at collecting treasures. Steve lived life to the fullest and was a source of many stories and legends. Steve was an air guitar expert, appearing frequently at the many lounges in Dickinson. Steve thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and with his many cherished friends.
Steve is survived by his siblings, Terry Ferderer, David (Laurie) Ferderer, Nadine (Mike) Morton, Lucinda Gehrts and Randall Ferderer; sister-in-law Beverly Ferderer; brother-in-law Erick (Bonnie) Ragsdale; step-brothers, Dale (Linda) Frank, Eugene (Jane) Frank, Cletus (Karla) Frank; step-sisters, Dorothy (Harvey) Hibl and Wanda (Daniel) Padgett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Ferderer and Anna Ferderer Frank; step-dad, Florian Frank; sisters, Kathleen Ragsdale and Paulette Hutmacher; brother, Wayne Ferderer; and brother-in-law, Michael Gehrts.
