Brady Robert Brunk, 49, Missoula, MT, formerly of Dickinson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at his home. Brady’s Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Brady Robert Brunk was born in Kimball, Nebraska, on October 16, 1976, to Melvin and Valeria Brunk. He was a happy baby with a smile always on his face. The youngest of three brothers, Brady moved with his family to Fort Morgan, Colorado, when he was a toddler. There, he began school, and his wonderful personality blossomed. Brady was an excellent student, and learning came easily to him. In 1985, his family moved to Dickinson, North Dakota, where he made many friends throughout high school and graduated with honors from Dickinson High School in 1994.
Brady stayed in Dickinson for a time, a place he always called home. In 1996, he met Patricia Larson, and they later married. Brady became the father Patty’s daughter, Khloe, never had. As they built their family, their son, Tristen, was born—one of Brady’s proudest achievements. The family later moved to Helena, Montana. Brady worked in masonry for several years before moving into sales at various retail stores. He made friends wherever he worked and often became a department lead or assistant manager. His technical skills, broad knowledge, and outgoing personality made him a gifted salesman.
Brady was quirky, funny, and deeply loved by his nieces and nephews, with whom he shared a special bond as they grew up around him as he would often “Brady sit”. While living in Montana, he loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and simply spending time with others. He also enjoyed binge-watching TV series, working with computers, playing video games, following sports, and listening to music. Music was one of his greatest passions, and Pearl Jam was his favorite band. Brady loved life fully. He valued family and friendship above all else, and his compassion and empathy for everyone he met were extraordinary. He helped others without hesitation and had a kind heart unlike any other. Brady touched many lives in profound ways. His bright light will be deeply missed. We love you, Brady.
Brady is survived by his father, Melvin Brunk; his son, Tristen Brunk; his brother, Alfred (Jodi) Marsh, and their children, Aaris, Jaden, Kayla, Talon, and Morgan; his brother Brandon (Christina) Marsh, and their daughter, Valerie; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is greeted in heaven by his mother, Valeria, and his stepmother, Becky.
