Todd Alan Greenwood November 18, 1958 - July 2, 2026

Date of Funeral

Thursday, July 16, 2026

Todd Alan Greenwood, 67, of Dickinson, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife and kids on Thursday, July 2, 2026, following a brief, but courageous battle with brain cancer. An Informal Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Friends, family, and his customers are welcome to come and go at their leisure during that time.

Born on November 18, 1958, in Dickinson, Todd was the son of the late Larry and Joyce (Henley) Greenwood. One of six children, he was a (nearly) lifelong resident of the community he loved. It was in Dickinson where he grew up, attended school, and met the love of his life, Janice Ulrich.

After working various jobs in his youth, Todd found his true professional calling when he founded Greenwood Lawn and Tree. He poured his hard work and dedication into the business for 35 years, eventually sharing his passion and pride with his son, David, who joined him in running it. Todd was highly respected within the Dickinson community for his integrity, strong work ethic, and expertise. The business will live on, with David at the helm.

Beyond his work, Todd was known for his sharp mind and distinct personality; he was naturally curious and healthily skeptical. He was a true lifelong learner; never afraid to ask tough questions or entertain a good debate. He was also an avid reader and appreciated music from many genres.

Todd was a remarkably talented dart player who loved the camaraderie and competition of the game. He recently played on a local dart league and Janice holds fond memories of tournament trips in Vegas.

At home, Todd was a man who appreciated his daily routines and was happiest relaxing in his recliner with Janice and their beloved rescue pets, beagle Dazzee and cat Henry. He took great joy in caring for animals, particularly the neighborhood cats and birds, ensuring they were always well-fed. Todd absolutely loved and cherished the time he spent with his two grandkids.  He played ball with Eli, and enjoyed talking to Brianna about school.  He was a great Grandpa, father, and husband.  He will be dearly missed by the whole family.

Notably, Todd held 35 years of sobriety—a milestone that reflected his deep resilience and strength of character.

Todd is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Janice Greenwood; his children, stepdaughter Sara (Jared) Twogood, daughter Malissa (Greg) Greenwood Sprecher, and son David (Maria) Greenwood; and his cherished grandchildren, Brianna and Eli Twogood. He is also survived by three of his siblings; Dann (Deb) Greenwood, Scott (Renee) Greenwood, and Joy Jilek; sister-in-law, Linda Greenwood; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a community of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Joyce, and his brothers, Mark Greenwood and Donn Greenwood.

While Todd was not associated with specific charities, his family knows he would be honored if, in lieu of flowers, those who have the means and compassion consider feeding their local birds in his memory.
