Carol’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Heart with Fr. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Heart. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Stockert as presider. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
Carol Beth (Ross) Frank was born May 21, 1944 in Twin Falls, ID to Verle Cleo and Catherine (Deeley) Ross and passed away June 20, 2026 in Bismarck.
Carol was raised on a farm near Shoshone, ID, and graduated from Shoshone High School. She attended one semester of college when she met Thaddeus “Ted” Frank. They were married on April 20, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Carol worked alongside Ted all of their married years farming and milking cows.
Carol was very talented in many ways. She raised amazing vegetable gardens and her pride and joy were her many flower gardens. She was always working on a sewing or crochet project and made many quilts over the years. If you attended a local wedding, chances are you ate one of the many wedding cakes she made and decorated. She volunteered countless hours and years for 4-H, Christian Mothers of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the South Heart PTO. One of Carol’s greatest gifts was being able to throw a delicious home cooked meal together at the drop of a hat. When you came to visit, you better be ready to eat, and if you left the house hungry it was your own fault. Carol’s favorite role in life was being mom and grandma. She enjoyed any time she could get with her family.
Grateful to have shared in her life are her seven children: Pat (Jane) Frank, Dickinson, JoAnn (Aaron) Mahlmann, Bismarck, Mike Frank, Lincoln, Theresa (Mark) Gruenberg, Mandan, Peter (Cassie) Frank, Nampa, ID, Katrina (Jeff) Fitch, Wasilla, AK, and Cindi Edwards, Winner, SD; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia Wock, Debbie Holland, Susan Campbell, and Kathleen Ross; one brother, Brian (Karla) Ross; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Frank and Lydia Krebs; and a very special friend, Gail Kuntz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, on September 12, 2002; her parents, V.C. and Catherine Ross; parents-in-law, Sebastian and Barbara Frank; in-laws, Ralph Frank, Gabe Frank, Val and Evangeline Stockert, Clem and Jerome Schwindt, Wallace Wock, and John Holland. She will be missed by all who knew her.
