David M. Wolf, 53, Belfield, died as a result of an accident, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. David’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Belfield, with Fr. William Ruelle as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the church with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

David was born June 17, 1963 at St. Joseph’s hospital in Dickinson, the seventh of nine children born to Antone and Rose (Schmidt) Wolf. He attended 12 years of school in South Heart. At the age of 13, David started harvesting with the family business “Wolf Brothers Custom Harvesting”. After graduation, he worked at Triwestern Builders of Dickinson in construction of pole buildings.

David married his high school sweetheart Janel Obrigewitch on September 27, 1984 at St. Bernard’s Parish in Belfield. David and Janel resided on the Cinder Farm, southwest of the family farm where they ranched, dairy and grain farmed and custom harvested with David’s brothers.They later moved to Lawrance, Kan., where they worked for an overhead door and building company.

In the late 1980’s, they purchased Wolf Brothers Harvesting and Trucking. Their marriage was blessed with one child, Michael David Wolf. Michael joined David and Janel as a proprietor of the family business that they continue to own and operate today. David’s dreams were fulfilled as he traveled for the wheat harvest from Oklahoma to the Canadian border. His life revolved around his son and wife. He enjoyed leaving every spring to join up with their summer harvest families which are many.

David was a member of US CHI (Custom Harvest Assoc.), Southwest Pulling Assoc. and South Heart Fire Department, where he was a former volunteer fireman. He found tremendous joy in snowmobiling, tractor pulling, and harvesting. David had great appreciation for black Peterbilts and black Fords.

David is survived by his wife and best friend Janel, Belfield; son, Michael David Wolf (Brianna Betlaf), Belfield; his parents, Antone and Rose, Dickinson; brothers, Duane Wolf (Jackie), Dickinson; Keith Wolf (Susann), Belfield; Tim Wolf (Marie Gross), Mandan; Bryan Wolf (Barb), Sauk Centre, Minn.; sisters, Kelly Goetz (Jeff), Bismarck; Sheryl Binstock (Curt), Dickinson; brothers, Rod Wolf (Mony), Dickinson; Ken Wolf (Crissy), Belfield; numerous nieces and nephews and his loving Obrigewitch family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Paulene Schmidt; Ralph and Barb Wolf; Mike Olheiser; and brother–in law, Jim Roberts.
